IQAC KIIT DU Organizes Two Day Workshop on “Nurturing Emerging Leaders for Next-Gen Leadership: Viksit Bharat@2047”

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell KIIT DU organized a two day Workshop on “Nurturing Emerging Leaders for Next-Gen Leadership: Viksit Bharat@2047” during 28-29 September 2024.  This workshop aims to empower and equip emerging leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive India towards its vision of a developed nation by 2047. The workshop was spearheaded by Mr. Indranil Das, Founder of Leaderion & Ex. Vice President, and Head of Services Business and Operation Support Systems, Ericsson. The Inaugural session commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Siddharth Swarup Rautaray, Dean, IQAC KIIT DU, who introduced the guest speakers and set the tone for the workshop.

Dr. Debashish Bandhyopadhyay, Pro Vice-Chancellor, KIIT DU, delivered a motivational address on leadership, highlighting the role of the Founder of KIIT and sharing insights from his own experience. He emphasized that failures should not deter aspiring leaders but rather serve as stepping stones for growth. He reflected on the leadership qualities essential for guiding organizations toward success by 2047.

Prof. Kumar Mohanty, Director of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) at KIIT DU, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for initiating the FDP series, which was the twelfth session. He elaborated on the industrial domain focus of the workshop and its importance in nurturing leadership qualities among faculty members. He emphasized self-discovery exemplifying self-life experience and the role of the workshop in shaping department heads and team leaders.

Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT DU, provided an overview of the workshop’s sessions, underscoring the significance of KIIT’s 14-year-long association with Ericsson. He shared his experiences with the industry and discussed how the collaboration helped develop KIIT’s industry engagement cell. Faculty members across various schools have benefited from this engagement, and Prof. Singh stressed the need to continue nurturing leaders in the academic and industrial spheres.

The workshop covered five sessions on the different aspects of leadership through MVP framework. The participants shared their experiences at the end of the workshop and thanked the authorities of the University for organizing such types of workshops

The Valedictory session was chaired by Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar KIIT DU. During his address he thanked the speaker for visiting KIIT as a resource person and shared the vision of Founder Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta of empowering faculty members for Next Gen Leaderships. He motivated the faculty members holding different positions at the University to transfer the knowledge gained during the workshop with the team members working with them at their respective schools. At the end, Dr. Siddharth S. Rautaray, Dean IQAC delivered the vote of thanks.
