KINS Organizes Fresher’s Welcome Ceremony ‘KALOS-2024’

Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences, successfully organized ‘KALOS-2024’, the Fresher’s Welcome Ceremony of 1st year M.Sc (N), BSC (N), and GNM students on 9th February 2024. It saw enthusiastic participation from students and staff members as they welcomed the newly admitted students into the KINS family.

The event was graced by Dr. R.N. Samanta, Advisor to Founder, KIIT-KISS; Prof. Tapan Kumar Panda, Pro. VC, KIIT-DU; Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar; Brig. (Dr.) Ambika Prasad Mohanty, Dean & Principal, School of Medicine, KIMS; Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS; and Prof. Kalyani Rath, Vice-Principal, KINS,  among other dignitaries. The programme commenced with an invocation seeking the blessings of the Almighty, followed by a welcome song performed by the students.

Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, gave a crisp presentation about the vibrant environment of this institute and university which strongly encourages both academic and extracurricular pursuits. She also highlighted several accolades received by the Founder of KIIT-KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the students and faculty on national and international platforms. She also encouraged the students to feel proud to enroll in KINS as KINS has the advantage of the parent hospital with 2026 bedded multi-speciality, super speciality and cancer hospital to equip themselves with a unique blend of knowledge, skill along with education.

Addressing the gatherings, Dr. R.N. Samanta, Advisor to Founder, KIIT & KISS advised the students to develop their competencies in nursing as nursing personnel have unique personalities. Prof. Tapan Kumar Panda, Pro. VC, KIIT-DU congratulated all the freshers for taking the significant step in their life by joining this institute. He emphasized the importance of hard work, determination, and resilience as these qualities will help them overcome obstacles and succeed in their endeavors.

The Registrar of KIIT-DU shared his insights on the progress of the School, offering motivational words of advice for the newly-admitted students and avail golden opportunities of University through student activity center. Brig. (Dr.) Ambika Prasad Mohanty, addressed the gathering by igniting the motivation regarding current trends of nursing profession, its expanded and extended roles.

By addressing the gathering, Prof. (Mrs.) Kalyani Rath, Vice Principal, KINS congratulated the newly joined students for choosing this profession and proposed the vote of thanks to all the gathering.
