Free Dental Screening Camp at Panikoili by KIDS
A mega medical and dental health check-up camp was organised by Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, at Seshadev Basanti Government, High School, Bhubaneswarpur, Panikoili on July 8.
The dental camp was organized under the leadership of Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi Deputy Director (Administration) and Principal Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar and under the guidance of Dr. Ipseeta Menon (HOD and Professor), KIDS. The programme was carried out following the philosophy of “Art of Giving” initiated by the Founder of KIIT-KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta.
The dentists visited the camp where the children got screened and mostly got diagnosed with dental caries including early childhood caries (ECC), chronic generalised gingivitis and grossly decayed teeth. The findings in adult patients were calculus deposits and extrinsic stains, decayed teeth, tooth wear.
The camp benefitted 299 patients with free consultations. All patients were educated and advised about the proper oral hygiene maintenance, tooth brushing techniques, and good food habits.
