Community Engagement Cell & KIIT NSS Electrical Engineering Organize Awareness Session on Platelets Donation
KIIT NSS Electrical Engineering organized a session on Platelets Donation Awareness and its importance in saving lives on 23rd August 2022. It was one of the first mega events organized by NSS Electrical since the reopening of the University in the month of July.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vishwajeet Kashid, Goodwill Ambassador for Platelet Donation by ISBTI representing India, informed about the criteria for Blood Donation, Platelet Donation, types of platelet donation, precautions to be taken and its importance in saving lives. Mr. Kashid, who holds the global record of donating platelets 178 times, is also the founder and executor of India’s first ever platelet donation. Mr. Manoj Mishra, a prominent face in Indian cinema known for his stunning performance in the Hindi, Oriya and Tamil Film Industry, discussed the importance of the contribution of youth in the society.
Among others, Programme Coordinator KIIT NSS Bureau Prof. Kajal Parashar; Director of Student Affairs Prof. Samresh Mishra; and Dy. Director of Student Services Prof. Shyam Sundar Behura were present. Prof. Snehalika, NSS PO, Electrical proposed the vote of thanks.
