KIMS Doctor Teaches CPR Skills for Resuscitating Cardiac Arrest Victims during “Nirman”, Inter Engineering College Hackathon

Dr Ashok Kumar Badamali, Senior Cardiac Anesthesiologist, KIMS  delivered a session and practical demonstration on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for victims of Cardiac arrest of any origin like Heart Attack, Electrocutions, Lightning Injuries, Food or Drug Allergies and Fire or Chemical smoke inhalations, during “NIRMAN”, a Technical Hackathon held recently.

About 300 Engineering and Management students from KIIT, IIIT Bhubaneswar, Silicon Institute, GIET Gunupur, SOA University, GITA, BJB College, Ravenshaw University, BIITM, IGIT Sarang and faculties from Infosys and CTTC Bhubaneswar participated in the live demonstration and interactions. Many participants had the opportunity to learn life saving skills through hands-on practice, during the two days event. The faculties from Infosys and CTTC requested Dr Badamali to conduct training CPR and first aid sessions for their staff.

Dr Badamali disclosed and demonstrated how his two innovations Sanjivani QCPR, a hand-held gadget and the Sanjivani KIOSK are going to create an ecosystem and a drastic change in the lifesaving skill training landscape across India. More than 150 Engineering and Management students have applied for internship in the two upcoming innovations of Dr Badamali, which are focusing novel solutions targeting efficient last mile delivery of blood products and vaccines.
