KIIT School of Public Health Celebrates Universal Health Coverage Day
The KIIT School of Public Health (KSPH), KIIT-DU organized a webinar on the theme “Leave No One’s Health Behind: Invest in Health Systems for All” on 12th December 2021 on virtual mode, on the occasion of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day 2021. The welcome note was given by Ms. Purnima Bhoi, Faculty KSPH, followed by keynote address on Universal Health Coverage by Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Satpathy, Director, KSPH, where he emphasized that everyone should have access to essential and quality healthcare services without any financial hardship. Quoting examples of some developing countries, he talked about how a country like India with various schemes and programmes is moving ahead for the achievement of UHC.
Associate Prof. Himashu Sekhar Pradhan delivered a presentation elaborating various dimensions of UHC, and theme of UHC Day 2021. He also highlighted the role of Public Health and Hospital Administration professionals in achieving Universal Health Coverage.
Dr. Pratap Kumar Jena and Dr. Manas Ranjan Behera, Associate Professors, KSPH also spoke on the occasion. Active participation of the students, faculty members and administrative staff were recorded. The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Itishree Mohanty, Faculty, KSPH.
