KSMC Faculties Co-Chair Parallel Session of National Media Conclave 2021
The 5th National Media Conclave (NMC) – 2021 was organized by Institute of Media Studies (IMS) and supported by Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC), which has been aptly themed ‘NEP 2020: Media and Digital Technology’. It is considered as the Eastern India’s biggest academic extravaganza which commenced virtually on Sunday.
The three-day conference consisted of a wide array of contemporary subjects discussed and debated over different sessions. One of the parallel sessions was co-chaired by Dr. Anurag Sahu, Assistant Professor, KSMC. The theme of the session was “Transformation Education and Social Empowerment”. The session was chaired by Prof. Neelima B. N. of Department of Communication and Journalism, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalaya, Andhra Pradesh. Total 13 scholars and academicians presented their papers on various aspects of the broad theme like NEP-2021, E-learning pedagogy, Future of journalism education, etc. Prof Neelima and Dr Sahu reviewed the presentations and gave comments.
Similarly, another technical session was chaired by Dr. Sunder Rajdeep, HoD of Communication and Journalism, University of Mumbai and co-chaired by Ms. Ruby Nanda, Assistant Professor, KSMC. The topic of the session was “Opportunities and Challenges for Media & Media Education during Pre-Covid, Covid & Post-Covid Era: Curriculum, Skills and Pedagogy”. Eleven papers were presented during the session which ranged from Media Education, Convergent Media Education, need for a convergence in media education with a blended learning mode, Journalistic ethics, Podcasting into mainstream media education, impact of online learning specially on marginalised communities like fishermen, Science and Environment Communication as a Subject in Media Education, RTI in media education, Journalistic ethics.
