One Day CNE (Continuing Ng Education) on “Emerging Trends in Strengthening Maternal & Child Health”
One day CNE on the theme “Emerging Trends in Strengthening Maternal & Child health” was organized by Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University at KIMS Auditorium on 7th August, 2019. Total 406 delegates registered for the CNE from different schools & college of Odisha.
Dr. Dinabandhu Sahoo , TLSHSRC NHM, Odisha as Chief Guest, Dr. R.N. Panda, Consultant, NHM, Odisha as Guest of Honour, Dr. Jyoshnamayee Panda, Professor, O & G Department, KIMS, Prof. (Mrs.) Amarita Lenka, Principal (CON), KINS, Prof. (Mrs.) Niyati Das, Vice-Principal, KINS inaugurated the CNE by lighting the lamp. The welcome address was given by Prof. (Mrs.) Amarita Lenka.
CNE sessions commenced after unfolding the theme by Prof. (Mrs.) Niyati Das, Vice Principal, KINS. The first talk was delivered by Dr. Asha P Shetty, Principal College of Nursing, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on “Challenges for Management of Paediatric emergency: Nursing perspective”.
Dr. Abhilekha Nayak, Principal, PG College of Nursing, Bhillai, Chhatisgarh delivered the talk on “Emergence of Innovation in Paediatric care”.
Dr. M V Smitha, Reader/Asso. Professor, College of Nursing, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar discussed about the “Current Issues in Midwifery Education & Clinical Practice”.
Prof. (Mrs.) Rafath Rajia , Principal, College of Nursing, Muslim Maternity Hospital, Hyderabad delivered her talk on “ Application of Theories & Models in Midwifery Practice”
Mr. Sourav Bhattacharya, Nutrition Specialist, UNICEF, Odisha team discussed on “Empowering Parents & Enable Breast Feeding”.
Dr. Dinabandhu Sahoo, TLSHSRC NHM, Odisha focused on “Current Strategies Adopted by Govt. of Odisha to Combat IMR & MMR”.In the valedictory session the certificates were distributed by dignitaries to all participants from different colleges. The feedback was taken from the participants. Feedback was very positive. Participants suggested for conducting more such CNE programmes for updating and strengthening their knowledge & skills. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Prof. (Mrs.) Niyati Das, Vice – Principal, KINS, KIIT Deemed to be University.
