Day 2 of FDP-2021 at Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences

Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS) organized a two-day Faculty Development Programme on 21st & 22nd June 2021. On the second day of the programme, Prof. Dr. S. J. Nalini, Principal, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (DU), in her session on “Innovative Teaching Strategies and New Learning Paradigms in Nursing Education”, spoke on the educational innovation, difference between traditional teaching and modern teaching including the evaluation process, curriculum, regulation and reformation. She also elaborated on drivers of blended learning and flipped classroom models, design and using Apps, Digital Assessment, and Feedback on E-Learning in education.

Dr. Vithoba Narayan Mhalkar, Assistant Professor, Psychiatric Nursing, IPHB, Bambolim, Goa & Emotional Intelligence Trainer, Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, Team Builder delivered a talk on “Strategies to Promote Curiosity In Virtual Learning”. He highlighted the use of the “emotional vaccination” programme. A variety of prospective team members can encourage the learner to contrast and analyse different perspectives in their critical thinking skills.

Taking the third session of the day, Dr. Manju Dandapani, Lecturer, National Institute of Nursing Education, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Secretary and Society of Indian Neuroscience Nurses discussed the “Impact of Paradigm Shift in Transforming the Future of Nursing Education”. She highlighted the three knowledge domains in fundamental knowledge: To know, to act and to value.

At the end of all sessions, the speakers were appreciated by Prof. (Mrs) Amrita Lenka, Principal (CON), Ms. Pramoda Kumari Nayak, Principal (SON), and Prof. (Mrs) Niyati Das, Vice Principal for sharing their valuable thoughts and updating the faculties of KINS to impart quality education. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Jayasmini Mohanty, Tutor, KINS.
