Department of ENT, KIMS Hosts 5th Annual Conference of AOI Bhubaneswar Branch

The Department of ENT, KIMS hosted the 5th Annual Conference of Association of Otolaryngologist of India (AOI) Bhubaneswar Branch. Hundreds of delegates from across Odisha participated and shared their ideas, research and skills. The conference was inaugurated by Major General Dr. P. K. Patnaik, Director General, KIMS Group.

Two eminent national faculties interacted with the delegates and Post graduates. A special feature of the meet was a pre-conference hands-on temporal bone dissection course, in which 20 young ENT surgeons were trained. Besides, some skillful surgeries of the middle and inner ear as well as over human cadaver were performed, resulting in overwhelming responses.

On the first day, KIMS team conducted a live surgical workshop on Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Surgery, Stapedotomy, modified Radical Mastoidectomy, Endonasal Dacryocystorhinostomy and Endoscopic Tympanoplasty. On the second day, orations, lectures, panel discussions, PG paper and quiz competition were held.

Prof. Dr. K. K. Samantaray and Prof. Dr. Khageswar Rout were the Conference Chairman and Secretary respectively. Entire team of the Department of ENT, KIMS worked hard to make it a grand success in this difficult time of the pandemic adhering to all Covid guidelines. One of the  Post Graduates, Dr. Ayan Maity, a Post Graduate, got the 3rd prize in PG paper, while Dr. Ananya Patra and Dr. Arnav received prizes for quiz and poster competitions respectively. The Management of KIMS supported the conference fully with all logistics.
