KIIT-DU Successfully Conducts Trial Run of Bitumen Emulsion Based Cold Mix for Pothole Filling
KIIT Deemed to be University has successfully conducted the 1st trial on pothole filling using a cold press emulsion mix with instant setting capacity. As the capital city, Bhubaneswar is flooded with vehicular movements, many concrete and Bituminous roads are under stress resulting in potholes in due course of time.
A research team consisting of Dr. Biswabandita Kar, Mr. Vikram, Sri Umesh Panda and Dr. Bansidhar Mulia under the aegis of KIIT-DU was engaged to formulate a new emulsifier for Pothole repair. After 11 months of sincere research, a new emulsifier patent got filed from the University and the work was presented at Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU has extended all facilities for success of the work and ultimately the success has been achieved. Er. Satyanarayan Patro, BMC is executing and supervising the application from BMC side. The first application is being carried out at Kannan Vihar Phase-II and subsequently a 100ft road will be filled with this patent material.
