Speak and Search Lecture Series, KIIT SCE Student Chapter Organizes Webinar on ‘Yoga and Nature Therapy for Immune System and Life Management’

KIIT Society of Civil Engineers in collaboration with ICE and ASCE KIIT Student Chapter organized the Speak and Search Lecture Series on “Yoga and Nature Therapy for Immune System and Life Management” on 5th March 2021.

Speaking at the webinar, Dr. Biswabandita Kar, Professor, KIIT School of Applied Sciences defined Yoga as a medium to access one’s true exploration and ambition. She went on to explain the process of healing as a 4-step method as an amalgam of Lifestyle, Attitude, Relaxation and Breathing. Dr. Kar explained how coronavirus attacks our immune system and how we can protect ourselves from it. She narrated the ways by which we can improve our health through Naturopathy and Yoga. Moving on, she demonstrated Yoga Asanas which one can practice in his/her daily life to gain health and mental peace. She also informed about different food items which we can consume to improve our Immune System.

Earlier, the event started with a formal introduction of the speaker by Mr. Harshit Kishlay and Ms. Shubhra Sharma. The welcome address was delivered by the Dean, School of Civil Engineering, Dr. S. Moulick. Lastly, Dr. K. P. Samal, Faculty Incharge, KSCE conveyed thankfulness to Prof. Hrushikesh Mohanty, Vice Chancellor; and Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice Chancellor for providing the opportunity to organize this event.  She also extended gratitude to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for being the source of inspiration for all such activities in the Campus.

Among others, Dr. Madhulisa Pattanaik,  other Faculties and Technical staff of the  School of Civil Engineering, students  of the school were present on the occasion. The event was attended by more than 45 participants of both ASCE and ICE Student Chapters with  student  Coordinators Mr. Yash, Mr. Debdutta and Mr. Sarthak.
