International e-Workshop Concludes at KINS

The International e-Workshop on “Imbibe research culture to empower Nursing Professionals for imparting quality Health care” organized by Kalinga institute of Nursing Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University in collaboration with ICMR came to an end today.

The Plenary session on 19th December,2020, began with the enlightening talk by Dr. Nageshwar V. Reddy, Asst. Professor, Faculty of Applied medical sciences, Al-Baha University, Saudi-Arabia on ‘Parametric and Non parametric test’. He highlighted on statistical inference, Hypothesis, Parametric and Non parametric test, chi-square in detail. He also discussed comparing two-unpaired groups. This interactive session was well moderated by Mrs. Anuradha Panda, Principal, LJM College of Nursing, Bhubaneswar.

Furthermore, the session proceeded with panel discussion, and it was started with the spark conversation between the groups of expertise and Intellectual leaders like Dr. Manjubala Dash, Dr. Mercy Thanga Rathna Henry, Dr. Jaya Singh Kshatri and well moderated by  Prof.(Mrs.) Niyati Das, Vice-principal, KINS, KIIT-DU in three different rounds. The session was highlighted on ‘Implementing Evidence based practice’. It concluded that EBP is the most important tool to render effective care and to improve patient outcomes. It also promotes an attitude of inquiry in health professionals.

The Valedictory session was graced by the Guest of Honour Dr. R. C. Das, A.V.M, Vice Principal, School of Medicine, (Professor and HOD Psychiatry, KIMS,PBMH); Chief Guest Mr. Panchanan Parida, Management Representative, KIMS,PBMH; and Prof.(Mrs.) Amarita Lenka, Principal, KINS, KIIT-Deemed to be university.

Prof. (Mrs.) Amarita Lenka, Principal, KINS overviewed the  three days session briefly and welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Resource persons, Moderators, KIIT Authorities, faculties and participants in the Valedictory session, Prof. A. Lenka spoke that success lies in team work. She congratulated and encouraged the KINS fraternity and management for the success of the event.

Dr. R. C. Das, A.V.M, Vice Principal, School of Medicine (Professor & HOD Psychiatry, KIMS, PBMH) appreciated the KINS fraternity for selecting the fusion of two ideas in theme i.e. ‘Research culture’ and ‘Quality health care’. He also emphasized how the e-workshop will help the young generation for upcoming Research. Mr. Panchanan Parida, Management Representative, KIMS, PBMH explained how Nurses are the backbone of health care services, and their involvement in research work carries immense significance. Further the report of three day International e-Workshop was presented by Mr. Chandan Pradhan, Asst. Professor, KINS, KIIT-DU. The feedback was received from few participants, followed by the award of best oral paper presenter was declared.

Words of gratitude were rendered by Mrs. Kalyani Rath, Associate Professor, KINS, KIIT-Deemed to be University. The whole program was anchored by Mrs. Sanjukta Dixit and Mrs. Angel Merry Paul Dani, Faculties of KINS. The program concluded successfully with KIIT Anthem.
