International Virtual Conference on ‘Emerging Frontiers for Healthcare & Delivery’

Department of Biology, School of Applied Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University (KIIT-DU), organized a webinar on “Emerging Frontiers for Healthcare and Delivery” (EFHD-2020) from September 12 -14, 2020. Inaugurating the event, Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU said that the theme of the conference is very relevant in these times, when the health sector is lagging in adequate knowledge. Gatherings of such kind will help in exchange of scientific ideas with a vision for the betterment of society, he added.

Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar congratulated the organizers for successfully organizing the event during this pandemic period. Prof. Gopal C. Kundu emphasized that healthcare and its delivery needs to be prioritized for enhancing the life expectancy of individuals. New innovations are needed in the field, he said, while informing about new innovations related to cancer therapy.

Earlier, in her welcome address, Dr. Chandana Mohanty, Assistant Professor and Convenor EFHD-2020, School of Applied Sciences, highlighted the progress of the newly established Biology Department in the field of research and projects. She also emphasized the importance of this webinar in this pandemic situation. The inaugural session ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sarbari Acharya, Assistant Professor, School of Applied Sciences. The entire session was anchored and coordinated by Dr. Nikita Mahapatra, Assistant Professor, School of Applied Sciences and the ICT support for online streaming.

All the technical sessions were coordinated by Dr. Ch. Vinod, Assistant Professor, School of Applied Sciences and other faculties of Department of Biology. The session consisted of talks by eminent researchers from diverse backgrounds including cancer therapy, nanotechnology and its role in cancer, regenerative medicine, and tuberculosis therapy. Co-convenors Dr. Nikita Mahapatra and Dr. Ch. Vinod spoke at the valedictory session. Dr. Sarbari Acharya, Co-convenor EFHD-2020 proposed the vote of thanks.
