KISS Foundation extends helping hand to a hapless family in Kendrapara

Suffering from prolong kidney ailment, Sabita Dash, a widow of Dhumat Panchayat (Baishnab Sahi) in Kendrapara District is striving hard to make both ends meet for her family of 3 children. While Sabita has been bedridden since long, the onus lies on her 7 year old son Subham to earn livelihood for the destitute family. Subham has to manage his family by begging from nearby houses. The story struck the limelight recently in the media.

Knowing the plight of Sabita from the media, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and MP (Kandhamal) pondered how Sabita could be rescued from such wretchedness. In the meantime, the Local Legislature and former Finance Minister Mr. Sashibhusan Behera met Dr. Samanta and discussed to provide viable assistance to the hapless woman. Subsequently, as per the advice of Dr. Samanta, KISS Foundation extended its helping hand to Sabita’s family.

On behalf of KISS Foundation, Sabita was provided with a cash of fifteen thousand along with all essential food & grocery items today. Besides, a monthly   allowance of 5 thousand rupees will be given to Sabita for the sustenance of her family. Furthermore, if she wants then her two younger children can pursue study in KISS Balasore, assured Dr. Samanta.

KISS Balasore will be resuming after dwindling of the Corona crisis while all the arrangements will be made for the children to get enrolled and pursue their study, said Dr. Samanta. As Sabita has not a house of her own, the local MLA is trying to provide the same through District Administration under Govt. of Odisha Scheme.

KISS Foundation is ready to provide requisite financial assistance towards the treatment of Sabita’s chronic ailment, declared Dr. Samanta.  While Sabita and her family have expressed gratitude to Dr. Samanta and KISS Foundation for their generosity, such a noble gesture of KISS Foundation and Dr. Samanta is earning profuse accolades in the locality.
