Prof. (Dr.) Bidyut Kumar Das delivers talk at KIMS
Odisha Bigyan Academy(OBA), an agency of the Government of Odisha, Department of Science and Technology, established with an object of popularizing Science Education in the state, recognizes scientific talents by giving various awards to Odia Scientists. The Government of Odisha confers Biju Patnaik Award for Scientific Excellence & Samanta Chandra Sekhar Award to the Odia Scientists in recognition of their scientific contribution in their respective fields. Prof. (Dr.) Bidyut Kumar Das, Professor in Medicine, SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack is the recipient of Samanta Chandra Sekhar award in 2017 for his research work in the field of medical immunology.
There is a provision in the guidelines of the said awards of Odisha Bigyan Academy to facilitate the awardees to give lectures on their contributions on Science and Technology for the benefit of the teachers, scientists, research scholars and students. Prof. (Dr.) Bidyut Kumar Das addressed the faculty and students of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University; Bhubaneswar on 26th October, 2019 on his research works “The untold saga of Vitamin D as immune-modulator in autoimmune diseases”.
Maj Gen Prof.(Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Patnaik VSM, Principal, KIMS & Director, School of Medicine welcomed the gathering. Prof. Pramod Chandra Mishra, President of Odisha Bigyan Academy introduced the speaker and detailed about the award. This was followed by a talk by Prof. (Dr.) Bidyut Kumar Das. Medical Superintendent, Prof. (Dr.) Jyotin K Dash extended vote of thanks at the end of the program.
